Ramiros is an Oldenburg/ISR, AWR Approved Stallion. This 1996, 17.1 hand bay Holsteiner Stallion is by Rantares. He has received the Highest Approval Score from the AWR making him the Champion 2001 Stallion. Ramiros is a perfect example of flawless form and function. With his correct confirmation and wonderful mind he passes on his good looks, super talent and jaw dropping movement to his offspring.
In 2007 Ramiros came to America after two years in Germany training under Hubertus Schmidt. Vertu Sport Horses acquired him in June 2007 and thus began his show career in Utah under the second rider he has ever had, Shelley Van den Neste. Shelley explains, “Ramiros is a character and extremely fun and soft to ride. We qualified for Region 3 Championships after two shows in Utah and Colorado in the Prix St. George and fourth level and we even add libbed a 4th level Freestyle from music edited by Lisa Payne of Oak Hammock Farm in Loxahatchee, Florida. Because we had about 5 minutes to practice the freestyle, Lisa said ‘if in doubt wing it!’ That is exactly what Ramiros and I did to earn a 69%, proving his rideability once again.”
Ramiros had no difficulty adjusting to training in the high mountain desert at an altitude of over 6,000 feet. He is a strong and hardy horse with stamina and longevity in his bloodlines.
Van den Neste is hopeful that Ramiros should be reaching the Intermediare II and Grand Prix in a few years.
